Don't Be Surprised: Long Distance Mover's Rates

packers and movers hyderabad   One of the most common occurrences when people move with a professional moving company is surprises when the bill arrives. Whether it's additional services, or unexpected fees, the bill is usually higher than people expect. Often it's a result of hastily moving through the moving quote process, overlooking the finer details or not getting an on-site estimate; but sometimes it's the old bait-n-switch maneuver being executed by a rogue moving company. Either way, you can help yourself by having a better understanding of long distance mover's rates, which is why I've put together a list of some of the more extraneous charges. This should give you an idea of what's to come and better prepare you for when the bill arrives.

Long Distance Mover's Rates: The Forgotten Charges

packers and movers delhi    Here are some of the more subtle things that you will pay for on any move that goes beyond one hundred miles--

If the movers have to use flights of stairs that contain eight or more steps, you will get the first flight free, but will be charged for each additional flight of stairs. The actual price of this fee will vary from company to company, but this is a standard industry charge.

    Elevators
If the movers have to use an elevator, and must carefully maneuver large items into and out of it, you will be charged a service fee. This is another standard industry charge, and the exact cost will vary from company to company.

If the movers have to carry items further than seventy five feet, when moving between their truck and the load/unload destination, you will be charged a long carry fee. That fee is subject to increases with every additional fifty foot increment beyond the first seventy five. This is another standard industry charge and the actual cost will vary.

If the moving company cannot get their truck into your complex or near you residence or business, and must use a shuttle, there will be a service charge based on the total number of cubic feet or weight of your shipment.

If you need overnight, short-term, or long-term storage you will be assessed a fee based on the total weight or cubic feet total of your shipment. For long-term storage monthly rates will apply. *Only select moving companies will be able to offer storage.
For every additional stop that the moving company must make, you will be assessed a flat-fee charge. Again, this is a standard industry charge, and the exact price will vary depending on the company
